In the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon remarks several times that there is nothing new under the sun. I have to challenge this claim since evidence shows over the last 2+++ years there has been a great deal of novelty in what has guided our unprecedented national and global response. Perhaps the Bible is really not as prophetic as it seems. Consider the following firsts that have arisen since COVID hit the ground running.

• We have locked up the healthy. Normally, one might question the justification for such unconventional thinking, but perhaps, being our intellectual betters, they know something we don’t.
• Imposition of public mask mandates and social distancing requirements for everyone – indoors and outdoors. Suddenly we collectively donned the affectations of an O.R. surgeon who can never seem to get out of the operation theatre. We were stuck in a perpetual loop of lather up, wash up, mask up, lock up, rinse, and repeat. In short order, much of the public forgot the carefree days when our existence was not an homage to Howie Mandell trapped in a truck stop bathroom. Thank goodness, some brave government souls took the bullet; testing human resilience against this silent killer by partying like it was 2019. They toyed recklessly with freedom so that we didn’t have to. If they were Christians rather than unbelievers or outright pagans, they might be accused of hypocrisy. We should never forget their sacrifice and their willingness to mask (see what I did there) the body count resulting from these super-spreader nightmares.
• We took tests to find out if we were ill. Prior to 2020, we were adopted in the pre-Cambrian view that symptoms defined an illness and a dearth of symptoms meant we were healthy. We evolved over this time and now recognise the nuance of assuming one is sick until proven well.
• We embraced 24/7 surveillance as a means of ensuring that we were where we should be and not spraying foreign matter hither and yon. We were all in this together, even though this method of augmented public safety somehow was not broadcast to the public. As those who have assured us that every mandate must be followed unquestioningly, it is all for our safety. Without the protective eye of big brother watching over us, we would be like sheep without a wolf pack to protect us.
• A determination that vitamins C and D were now contraindicated for staving off a virus. We never would have learned the toxic effects of fresh air and exercise had we not received the new public health direction under COVID. It turns out that the real propaganda and fake news was those “Participaction” videos that surfaced every 20 minutes on TVO. Imagine if we’d only known that exercise was a killing us softly and we had fallen prey to the myth of natural health. By masking in place and keeping up to date on the latest installment of “Cuties” on Netflix, we were spared from heart attacks of fit and jabbed athletes dropping dead of myocarditis in reaction to the referee’s whistle. Perhaps we can figure out the source for the 40% spike in “all caused” death once COVID is finally eradicated.
• We learned that some countries are just too ignorant to know what’s best for them. For poorer countries like India that relied on cheap blister packs with horse paste (aka Ivermectin), zinc, and the dreaded 1,2 punch of Vitamins D and (C above). Sure, they essentially eradicated COVID completely in Uttar Pradesh, but surely this is simply the calm before the Cytokine storm due to so few people filling up their Pfizer loyalty cards. We have since learned that horse paste only worked on the 100 to 200 members of congress who received it. Leftist political science informs us that if a problem gets worse due to the governmental remedy, just throw more money at it and do more of what hasn’t worked. They’ll see in time that we were right all along. Give it another 2 weeks – about the length of time we are now told that the injections offer protection – and see if they don’t see death counts like in the U.S. If only India was on the same page as enlightened nations, we would have cured COVID instead of the west being hit with the highest rates of infection and death. They are killing us. There’s a lesson in this: Not conforming can be deadly.
• The relationship between a doctor and his/her patient was no longer sacrosanct, but we must follow the one-size-fits-all proclamations of medical bureaucrats. These health and science experts are so skilled that they didn’t even need to meet with actual patients to impose an impeccable treatment strategy. Some front-line doctors were sceptical since the go home until you are sick, take the renal-failure causing Remdesivir and, if you survive this, surely the ventilator would finish the job. They had such confidence in their approach that hospitals were given money for every COVID positive patient with increasing taxpayer funded windfalls for everyone hospitalized, then given Remdesivir, putting them on a ventilator, with “death attributed to COVID” to fill up the BINGO card.
• Early treatments and the “right to try” were no longer defensible. Courts would actively ensure that no one had too much to think and decided that the abysmal record of death-by-treatment was exactly what the doctor ordered. With hospitals getting a bounty for each COVID protocol death, they had a vested interest in tamping down any uppity doctor who thought they might offer repurposed drugs known to heal the vast majority of patients. The threat of firings, lost licenses, and having judges withhold the early remedies at any cost served to make sure that no one strayed from the beneficence of the expert class. The prescription for the sick person was to remain locked up immobile in their home and only come to the hospital when they were too sick to recover on their own. In most cases, after undergoing the protocols, the patient rolls were cleared up thus effectively relieving the burden on doctors.
• We mass injected an experimental product into the arms of billions of people without the safety testing having been completed. Not only was time of the essence to spare those of us without comorbidities (who had virtually a statistical zero chance of dying from COVID), but the animals used in the experiments were dying so we wouldn’t have learned anything from completing the animal testing stage anyway. It turns out that they were experimenting on humans to ensure the injections are safe since they are now testing zoo animals for COVID and giving them the elixir.
• The template used for the injections was never isolated, but was offered generously by the Chi-Coms as we knew they need us so we can keep buying their cheap manufactured goods. After all, if we can trust God hating governments in the west, why should we be so picky as to discriminate against God hating dictators in the East?
• Instead of using a portion of a dead virus with lower potency as a remedy (what is known in common parlance as a vaccine), we thought it would be fun to try out a heretofore untried gene altering substance that would manufacture toxic spike proteins throughout our body to override the God given immune system with which we were born. Surely God was smiling down on knowing that preborn children he created were useful as aborted fetuses were used in the testing and, in some cases, the actual injections.
• Natural immunity was ignored. Previously the primary objective was to reach herd immunity and vaccines were a substitute to hopefully offer the benefits derived from those who acquired natural immunity. Historically it has been the most robust and coveted way to achieve immunity (by catching and fully recovering from the virus), but this time around we thought that turning people into human dartboards was the way to go.
• We didn’t blink an eye as many people were fired from their jobs, unable to travel, shop, or enjoy basic freedoms and rights for not receiving the experimental inoculation – even if they already had naturally acquired immunity. In the old Canada, medical choice and privacy was the rule, but we now know that those who make a different decision are racists, misogynists, and anti-science with intolerable views that should not be tolerated. We never would have discovered this hidden truth if we didn’t abandon our core rights and freedoms and determine that the Nuremberg Code was now passé. It was time we get past that whole Nazi-era medical experimentation stage since that thinking was so 1940’s.
• Health experts’ primary directive was to reduce “vaccine” hesitancy rather than ensure that the efficacy and safety of the injections was being tracked to see if these untested substances actually cured rather that killed. Censorship of those injured from the injection and hiding the testing data for 75 years was now considered de rigueur. While unconventional and tough for anyone with doubts to delve into, it is certainly an effective way to bury criticism and keep a monopoly on centralized control. Surely efficiency matters more than efficacy.
• For the first time, “vaccines” were not a one off, but now were a semi-annual to quarterly event. They assured us they were optimistic about the beneficial qualities of the “vaccine,” so who can blame them for being a touch over-zealous by imposing huge social and economic costs for not falling in line? They had their fingers crossed that this would be the solution. After all, if you’re going to make an injection omelet, sometimes you need to clot a few legs.
• It now turns out that the efficacy of a “vaccine” depends entirely on those who don’t take it. Instead of seeing this as evidence the injections don’t work and to hesitate on the push to global compliance, this paucity of sanctioned evidence fueled a scheme of equality through everyone receiving an ineffective and deadly inoculation. This endeavour had the full support of those who complied either because misery loves company or they were invested in the government’s promise that life would go back to normal once the disease-ridden anti-vaxxers all took the jab.
• Selfishness, segregation and discrimination transitioned from being inhumane to virtuous. Okay, I can’t fool you there. This is not new, but has been the modus operandi of the political left for a long time. They determine those who should be celebrated and who should be condemned by breaking everyone up into balkanized identity groups, insisting on complete institutional, professional and relational obeisance to their worldview, then punishing all dissent. Under COVIDstan, once waning efficacy was no longer able to be hidden, the messaging from our elitists shifted to: the jabs don’t prevent infection or spread, but reduce symptoms. Having effectively been told that those without the jab were in danger of serious injury or death, the compliant railed against those assumed to be at greatest risk. With no hint of compassion, the injected became angry at the “medically vulnerable” by complaining that their selfish desire for bodily autonomy might cause them to suffer a mild infection. In many cases, this was used to justify indefinite social distancing from family members and lifelong friendships. That is some top tier egocentricity at work.
• It was deemed rational to reduce hospital staffing during a presumed health crisis. The decision was made to force many doctors and nurses out of commission by firing those who refused the jab while bemoaning that the unjabbed would overwhelm the hospitals. Many doctors refused to treat those who didn’t submit to the needle and denied them life saving treatments – including organ transplants. If you’re going to deliberately kill a segment of society, one might reasonably ask if mere segregation might be the compassionate alternative. Couldn’t those without the inoculation choose to be treated by physicians who share their preference for “death by COVID” and allow the untouchables to care for each other? It seems that the demarcation for two-tiered healthcare cannot compromise with such half measures.
• The frightened who chose to stay home got to tell those not living in fear that they too must stay home. I’m not sure what else needs to be said here.
• Government got to dictate what businesses were or were not essential and what products caused viral spread and which didn’t. This is quite nuanced and tough to understand through logic and reason alone, so I will do my best to lay this out. Churches, gyms, restaurants, small businesses, family get togethers, marriages, funerals, visiting seniors and seeing loved ones who were ill or injured were all dangerous. Baby killing (abortion), cannabis and alcohol purchasing, some sporting events and grocery items – but only those that could be purchased through big box stores – were all safe. The danger only came with buying select household products, clothing, hardware, office supplies, electronics, etc., so having already closing us off from smaller businesses, they needed to erect barricades in the box stores to corral everyone into the food and approved basic essentials. I never got to see the scribble pad where they did the calculations to draw these delineations, but I am not a COVID mandate heath expert so doubtless could not hope to understand the complexities behind these machinations.
• Children were given the task of protecting the adults. The masking and widescale forced injections for kids were all identified as for the safety of the grown-ups. This is why so many schools had the teachers maskless and the children covered up – that is when the schools allowed children to attend in person. Even though the risk of suicide, loneliness, depression, and the ancillary mental health issues was the cost, we can assume the benefits somehow outweighed the harm. This is tougher to grasp now that we know that the injections and mandates led to death rates 117 times higher than the risk from COVID. This would seem ill-advised if they weren’t collateral damage for the protection of grown-ups. We learned that children also no longer required the school lunch programs that we were always told that schools had a duty to provide. This seems counter-intuitive to me since the closures of so many businesses and extensive spending would normally mean that the risk of children going hungry would increase, but again, I am a merely a pupil sitting at the feet of the COVID (puppet)masters.
• Health “experts” were viewed as unimpeachable when imparting the most restrictive measures imaginable, but lost their status once they suggested continuing on this path was an over-reaction. We were told to trust the experts on forced masking and avoiding public gatherings, but once they lifted these requirements, most decided these paragons of health could only be trusted when they prognosticated that a health apocalypse was upon us. We were told to follow the science into submission, but reject it as a means of escape from medical tyranny once the iron fist was removed.
• One could catch a deadly dose of a virus from the ambient air inside a vehicle or even while taking in an evening stroll alone, so always be masking.
• A “violent protest” now entails people socializing, dancing and hugging one another while children played in bouncy castles – all without masks. It feels like our government was taking a page from “Alice in Wonderland,” where the queen of hearts averred that she is able to believe as many as 6 impossible things before breakfast. I’m still stuck at the claim that “silence is violence” because my feeble mind tells me that this is an inversion of reality – but what do I know.
• The Canadian flag became a signal that one was a Nazi, while waving the flag of Ukraine (where Nazism thrives) establishes one’s patriotic bona fides.
• For the first time in a long time, the life expectancy age has dropped. This happened in 2021, after most had already acquired natural immunity, been injected, and were directed to adhere to the strictest COVID protocols “for our safety.” Perhaps we suffocated inside our own bubble wrap.
• During the time when almost all of the population had at least one jab and/or got naturally acquired immunity, the all caused mortality rate has inexplicably soared in 2021 by 40%. The greatest increases were in those of working age. We have learned this while also learning that the COVID death counts were inflated by at least 40%. I wonder what we did differently in 2021 especially since these rates did not rise in 2020 after a year of this novel virus spreading to the unjabbed and those without prior immunity. That’s a stunner. One might almost think that investigating this would be a better use of our public health services.
• On a completely unrelated note, we saw a massive spike in deaths and debilitating injuries after getting injected. The one thing the doctors knew for sure was that these were not injuries related to the inoculation. If only we hadn’t stopped performing autopsies in 2021, we might be able to figure out the explanation for these enigmatic deaths.
• Funeral homes were finding for the first time ever in 2021 that the arteries of many of their patients could not be injected with embalming fluid because they were filled with stringy substances that ran the length of the body and entirely filled the space that blood normally traveled through. Another case for “Unsolved Mysteries.”
• It was deemed a perfectly rational public health measure to demand an individual wear a mask while wending their way to a table, but once seated, the peril was neutralized.

I could keep going, but hopefully I’ve made my point. The deceptions from these elitists aren’t even clever, yet most of the population are largely granting them the presumption of medical and moral authority.

Of course, the Bible rightly identifies that human nature doesn’t change. Deceivers are gonna deceptivize and the demonic are gonna demonetize. The issue is that Christians are supposed to be alert to falsehoods and stand as watchmen on the wall; leading people away from the darkness and into the light. Failure to do so dishonours our calling and sullies our witness. We simply join those living in fear and without hope. This cannot be our legacy.
